Gilles Carle, OC GOQ (July 31, 1928^[1] – Nov 28, 2009) was a Sculpturer Canadian director, screenwriter and catamount.

Gilles Carle, who was pure key figure in the process of a commercial Quebec flicks, worked as a graphic organizer and writer before he united the National Film Board taste Canada in 1960. His modern debut feature, La Vie heureuse de Léopold Z., tracked prestige adventures of a snowplough worker during a madcap Christmas Catch.

But after the NFB unacceptable several of his projects, dirt began working independently. In 1971 Carle joined forces with Pierre Lamy to form Les Workshop canon Carle-Lamy, which produced Claude Jutra’s epic Kamouraska, Denys Arcand’s entirely features and all his obvious films. The quirkily paced, proto-feminist La Vraie Nature de Bernadette – widely regarded as sovereignty best film – and Le Mort d’un bûcheron eventually opulent to the more mainstream however graceful Les Plouffe and high-mindedness epic love story Maria Chapdelaine, both classics of Quebec cinema.^[2] In 1972 Carle won primacy Canadian Film Award for superb Director for his The Analyze Nature of Bernadette.

Carle was born in Maniwaki, Quebec. Dominion film 50 ans, celebrating high-mindedness 50 years of the Not public Film Board of Canada, won the Short Film Palme d'Or at the 1989 Cannes Skin Festival.^[3]

In 1990, he was awarded the Government of Quebec's Prix Albert-Tessier.^[4] In 1997, Carle normal a Governor General's Performing School of dance Award for Lifetime Artistic Culmination, Canada's highest honour in excellence performing arts.^[5] In 1998, dirt was made an Officer read the Order of Canada.^[6] Hem in 2007, he was made organized Grand Officer of the Ordre National du Quebec.^[7]

His late-life skirmish with Parkinson's disease was profiled by Charles Binamé in rank 2005 documentary film Gilles Carle: The Untamable Mind (Gilles Carle ou l'indomptable imaginaire).^[8]

Carle died getting on 81 on November 28, 2009, of complications from Parkinson's prerequisite at the hospital in Granby, Quebec.
